The Harvard Medical School Nutrition Student Interest Group (NSIG) is dedicated to advancing nutrition education, research, and clinical practice within medical training. NSIG introduces students to the foundational and emerging roles of nutrition in disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of acute and chronic illness across specialties.

Through expert talks, culinary medicine and counseling workshops, case-based discussions, and mentorship opportunities, NSIG equips students with practical skills to integrate evidence-based nutrition into patient care. The group also highlights career pathways in clinical nutrition, public health, endocrinology, gastroenterology, obesity medicine, and academic research, while fostering collaboration with dietitians, physicians, and interdisciplinary partners.

NSIG welcomes students at all stages of training—from those newly interested in nutrition science to those pursuing scholarship or leadership in the field—and aims to build a community committed to improving health through nutrition-informed medical care.

The mission of the HMS PM&R Interest Group is to educate medical students about the unique and impactful field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, foster meaningful connections with PM&R physicians and residents, and provide service opportunities that embody the specialty's core principles of restoring function and improving quality of life for individuals with disabilities and chronic conditions.

Specialty Spotlights: Attend workshops and panels to learn about the breadth of PM&R, from Sports Medicine and Spine to Peds Rehab, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Spinal Cord Injury.

Adaptive Sports Volunteering: Experience the joy and power of adaptive sports by volunteering at local events (e.g., running clinics for adaptive skiing, sitting volleyball, or wheelchair rugby).

Community Outreach: Engage with community organizations that serve individuals with disabilities, learning about the resources available to patients outside the hospital.

The Harvard Medical School Radiation Oncology Interest Group (ROIG) is dedicated to introducing medical students to the field of radiation oncology and the multidisciplinary care of patients with cancer. ROIG provides opportunities to explore the science, technology, and clinical practice of radiation therapy, including emerging innovations in image-guided treatment, stereotactic techniques, brachytherapy, and combined modality care.
